To unite those persons engaged in guidance and counseling at the elementary, secondary, and college level in educational institutions of Minnesota, public and private.

To make guidance and counseling more effective, and to promote an understanding of guidance and counseling services through the dissemination of information to other educational workers and to lay people in general.

To cooperate with educational institutions and organizations interested in the promotion of guidance and counseling services.

To work toward improving the qualifications for guidance and counseling personnel in Minnesota, and to engage in such other activities as may promote the general social and economic welfare of its members.

 MSCA Board of Director Application - Now Open!

Beginning in July 2024, MSCA will be following Policy Governance and we will have a Board of Directors of 11 people serving all school counselors across the state of Minnesota. These terms will be cyclical. 7 current board members will transition to the new Policy Governance board and 4 new board members will join them. 

 MSCA members can self-nominate to serve on the MSCA Board of Directors. The application includes the expectations of the Board Members with additional questions related to their experience and desire to serve on the Board.

Applications will be accepted through Monday, April 15, 2024 with elections taking place starting April 29, 2024. Please contact Calli Moreau, MSCA President-elect at: [email protected] with any questions.
